The Devil’s Lady

Bid by King Edward to marry one of his knights, Aisley de Laci hopes to avoid the altar by choosing Baron Montmorency. ‘Tis a union she is certain none will endorse, especially the baron, who is rumored to practice the dark arts from his isolated keep. Renowned in battle, the Red Knight has secluded himself at Dunmurrow for reasons of his own. And he does not want a wife, no matter how wealthy and beautiful she might be. But even he cannot defy the king’s order, and what comes to him, he takes—and holds. Although Aisley refuses to believe the tales that make Montmorency more myth than mortal, she begins to wonder whether he does possess mysterious powers. How else to explain her growing feelings for her husband, a man so shrouded in shadow she has never seen his face? Was she under a spell or truly the Devil’s Lady? A full-length novel originally published by Harlequin Books. Newly revised by the author. Deborah Simmons is a two-time RITA finalist and two-time finalist for the Daphne du Maurier Award. 1. Fabulous! Aisley de Laci proud and beautiful, was ordered by King Edward to pick herself a husband from any of his Knights of the realm – but marry she would! So in what she thought would be a foil to the King’s plans she choose the legendary Red Knight! The tales of his darkness were the tales to strike terror in the hearts of any who would go up against him. Much to her surprise, the King rather than refuse her request granted it to her – so she was hastily bundled off and sent on her way to…

  2. Epic medieval romance btwn two loyal, intense, beautiful and strong individuals. This is my favorite Deborah Simmons book. The romance btwn the H/h is one of the sweetest ones I have read in a medieval period. The love scenes added to their relationship and the climax reveals what you see intensifying throughout the novel: their epic love.

  3. MUST read for Historical Romance Lovers!! Awesome medieval romance full of dark suspense, witty dialogue, and lusty love! Both the H and h were absolutely charming and redeemable throughout the story. Another book that I didn’t want to stop reading until the end!! And no, its not a “clean” read but the erotica is tasteful, sensual, and appropriate IMO. Thank you Deborah Simmons for giving me a highly enjoyable journey to the time of Knights and their Ladies!!
