We Asked, You Answered, “What Do Authors Want To Know?”

What Do Authors Want To Know When It Comes To Publishing?

Actually what authors really want to know is how to use Social Media to market their books. The answers ranked like this:

  1. Marketing
  2. Editing
  3. How to Market Effectively
  4. How to Use Social Media
  5. How to Find Target Audience
  6. Marketing is A Mystery To Me

So what’s an author to do?

Find something that works for them and stick with it. No one is able to build an audience over night. Finding the target, developing the content, the message and the authors’ voice takes time. Just like writing the book takes time. If you’re going to spend the time writing the book, shouldn’t you take the time to develop the audience too?

The time to be developing that audience is while, or even before, you are writing the book. And while that might sound like adding a lot more time to your already precious writing time, squeezed in between life and other more important “hobbies” like grocery shopping and that job thing, it doesn’t have to be.

images-118 When taken in small bites, anything is possible – or edible, like the story of eating an elephant. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

Developing an audience is like eating an elephant. You have to do it in small, consistent bites. You plant enough seeds and a garden will grow. Make enough connections and you’ll eventually meet the right people. All of which takes times – by which I mean over the course of weeks, months and even years.

Again, think of how much time you are, or have, put in to writing your book. Developing an audience deserves just as much time.

Working with authors to develop an audience takes time. Because this is such a long haul project, it’s too hard to place a dollar value on the time of the assistant, or me in this case. Results take a long time to see and keeping anyone on the payroll for an indefinite amount of time can strain any budget.

Wanting something different that a pay as you go, or pay for services type business, I’ve created a way for authors to:

  • Receive Free Social Media Support
  • Create an online presence through consistent content sharing
  • Have an online blog without the hassle of maintenance
  • Grow an engaged audience
  • Receive all this for FREE
  • And even have the opportunity to EARN from writing.

How This Happens at Writing and Reviews, Publishing and Promotion:

  1. Through consistent content creation (blogging) content is shared to the Writing and Reviews social media networks automatically, and to the content creators social media networks automatically (if connected).
    1. The author, or “Contributor” used WRPP as their blog space.
    2. Contributor writes posts on wide range of topics.
  2. Content is distributed to the WRPP Social Media Network automatically.
    1. Contributors are able to connect their social media networks to content and have updates posted automatically upon publishing.

Social Media is Mastered:

  1. By following a simple, consistent course of creating content and sharing, followers and connections begin to recognize author.
    1. Traffic to pages increase
    2. Authors name recognition increases
    3. Readership grows
  2. By sharing other authors content to your network, authors:
    1. Have other, relevant and interesting content to share to their audience
      1. Maintaining their virtual presence
      2. Providing content that isn’t “about me”
    2. Learn to use sites and mobile devices to make reading and sharing content a fun and easy “task”
      1. Breaking down the tasks to 15 minutes 4 times a day
      2. Keeps social media from taking over your life.

The Option To Earn For Your Content

By incorporating the powers of affiliate marketing, namely Google Adsense, traffic to the site equals ad revenue paid by Google. Contributors are encouraged to participate and earn a split of the commissions – paid by Google.

images-119Because this ad revenue is generated by traffic to the site, I work to promote any and all content on the site – including, and especially, the content created by contributors. I earn when you earn. While this doesn’t happen over night, over time as content increases, traffic increases and income is generated.

I not only promote your content, I will help you create, and “social-tize” your content by:

  1. Providing Topic Ideas, blogging plans
  2. Provide Feedback/Edit
  3. Create Social Media Text to be shared, including hashtags(#)
  4. Ensure content is categorized and tagged for best exposure options

Let me help take the mystery out of social media, audience building and marketing. By taking small bites of the elephant, we’re sure to get the job done, together.

Side Note: It was so nice to see Editing up there in the ranks. As the rumors swirl around Amazons threat to pull low quality books from their digital shelves, all authors will need expert editing to pass the bar.
