The Daily View is now Writing and Reviews Wrap-Up.
Writing and Reviews Wrap-Up will be available when new content is published, but no longer on a daily basis. We realized the daily schedule would make people crazy, and we want our people to be happy. Crazy happy.
Business done, moving on.
The idea behind Writing and Reviews is simple: A way for me to do what I love, promoting authors, earn money doing it, but not at a cost to the authors. I understand selling books is hard and paying for help when you’re not making money is even harder.
I knew there had to be a way. For authors to earn for their writing and me to earn for promoting.
The way websites earn money is through Advertising Revenue. The way they earn that ad revenue is by visitors coming to their site. When you publish content on sites like Ezine Articles and Huffington Post and people visit that page, ad revenue is earned by the site.
Do they share that with you?
But you wrote that!
Make no mistake, the advertising is there. I know many authors do not want advertising on their blogs or websites, thinking it distracts from the purpose – to sell their books. The last thing you want is having a visitor stop by, if only long enough to click on a link that takes them away. It’s like your brother stealing your best friend.
I get that, and for the most part, I agree with it. Keep your site focused on you and your news. Don’t clutter it. Simple.
But when you go out and do what authors do – create content for sites like Ezine and Huff Post – and post it on other sites, it seems counter-active and the complete opposite of what authors want – to be paid for their writing.
Something else to consider: Is what you’re doing now generating positive results? Define “Positive Results.” Are you making money? We can talk about likes, followers and subscribers all day long. Yeah! The number of likes on your author page went up by 34. And then? Did you make money?
By focusing your writing efforts and creating as few as two fresh, previously unpublished articles a week for Writing and Reviews, you will see results – like money. But it takes commitment and time. This is not a get rich quick scheme. Promise to put in a year and you’ll be happy you did.
What? A whole year?! I can “hear” the pouting lips now. Yes, a year. Stick with Writing and Reviews for a year, and I believe you will be earning money for your writing on a such a consistent basis that you’ll be able to consider it a reliable income source.
And, let me ask you this: How long have you been doing what you’ve been doing? I bet it’s been more than a year.
Which leads me to another question.
In all the years you’ve been doing this, (writing, publishing and promoting) how much TOTAL have you earned from your writing?
