Research Methods in Health Promotion provides students (advanced undergraduate and graduate students) and practitioners with basic knowledge and skills regarding the design, implementation, analysis, and interpretation of research in the field of health promotion. Taking the perspective that research involves a predetermined series of well-defined steps, the book presents these steps in a sequential format.

  1. The best help to understanding / conducting public health research As a graduate student in public health, this book has been an incredible asset to my education. It was first introduced to me as the text for a research methods course in ‘Health Behavior’, but I’ve used it repeatedly since then in writing my thesis, abstracts, and journal articles. Specifically, the book includes a step by step breakdown of the research process… in writing my thesis, this step by step design turned a very intimidating and overwhelming task into something much more organized…

  2. Pretty neat The book was clean with some highlighted parts. I would recommend this book to any persons interested in research and trying to understand the basic principals to research methods.

  3. Boring Too dry, had a very difficult time forcing myself to read this for a class – but I suppose a book about research methods is difficult to make interesting.
