It’s Not My Favorite (The Lake Effect Series) (Volume 1)

An irreverent, modern-day romantic comedy~

The Hutchinson sisters grew up under the piercing, pious stare of a preacher’s wife. Plagued by her ever-disappointed refrain, “Well, it’s not my favorite.” Their search to find their own way in the world has not been a screaming success.

Gwenn uncovers a photo that brings her imaginary world careening into reality. She’s forced to ask herself if wealthy artist, Daniel Gregory is the answer she’s been seeking or a grand delusion. Break-ups, meltdowns, family secrets, wild nights and finally a journey of self-discovery to exotic New Zealand keep Gwenn and Rachel stumbling toward independence.

So grab your parka and join the Hutchinson girls, as they experience the Lake Effect in Duluth, Minnesota!

  1. To even put this anywhere close to lesfic is disingenuous at best. Even the cover is misleading To categorize this novel in the ‘Lesbian Romance’ genre is a misleading. This is by all intents and purposes a very hertero romance. It belongs that that sub category. Were there lesbians in it? Yes. The protagonists sister. Was there romance related to her? No. Not in the slightest. To even put this anywhere close to lesfic is disingenuous at best. Even the cover is misleading. Unless it’s put in the light that it’s the two sisters on it. But if I look down at a book in a Lesfic section and…

  2. It’s Not My Favorite It’s Not My Favorite is certainly not one of my favorites. I loved the sound of this one from the description, but it’s really not anything like that. Gwenn and Rachel are sisters and very close, and they’ve both had to deal with their born again Christian parents trying to direct their lives. Mostly, their mother criticizes everything about them and constantly tries to hook them up with nice Christian boys. Well, Gwenn isn’t interested in anyone from church and Rachel is a lesbian (not that…

  3. certainly NOT a Lesbian romance! This book is mis-categorized, it is not a Lesbian romance but instead is the story of two sisters (one of whom happens to be gay) and how their life was shaped by their fanatical born again parents. The main story was about the hetero sister, the lesbian sister was just a small sub-plot.
