  1. Absolutely full of advice and practical information I have read several recent books on book marketing and this one is one of the best, in my opinion. There are so many promotional pathways out there, and Derek explores most of them, giving step-by-step advice on how-to do each one. His book is full of examples and he offers a wealth of his personal experience as to what works and what no longer does.

  2. Good ideas that didn’t (haven’t) really work for me. Mr. Murphy obviously has a bit more capital to invest in getting his books moving that many indie authors. Much of his strategy involves paying for someone else to do something for you. He makes good points as to why this is the preferred route to go and it makes a lot of sense. But, if you are living on a shoestring budget, much of his advice simply cannot be taken.
